Getting to know you week!

 

This week we will be reading:

 

 

We will be taking part in lots of arts and crafts activities to go on display in our classroom and playing games to get to know each other.

 

Can you ever regain someone's trust?

 

English

 

Our focus text is:

 

 

Maths

 

We will be learning about Place Value (numbers to 1000) and Addition and Subtraction as well as practising out timestables in particular, our 2s, 5s, 10s and 3s.

 

Science

 

In Science, we will be learning about Forces and Magnets.

 

 

 

Geography

 

Our Geography topic will be focusing on Our Earth! We will be learning about sustainability and the impact of pollution on our coastlines and the ocean.

 

 

PSHE

 

In PSHE we will begin by setting goals for the year ahead and challenging misconceptions about gender and jobs. We will then focus on making healthy choices looking at hand hygiene, healthy sleeping patterns, safe use of medicines, the importance of exercise and nutition.

 

 

Art

 

We will be exploring illustrations and silhouettes with a focus on The Iron Man by Ted Hughes.

 

Design and Technology

 

This term, we will be taking part in an exciting STEM project to make an Iron Man using recycled materials. This may involve a trip to The Harley Gallery for Inspiration.

 

Computing

 

In computing, we will be learning about programming using Scratch and Turtle Logo.

 

 

RE/SMSC

 

We will elect for our Student Councillors and Eco Reps this term! You will also take part in HArvest Festival and activites for Healthy Eating Week.

 

 

Throughout the Autumn term, we will focus on Christianity including the Nativity Story.

 

French

 

In your weekly French lesson with Madame Walsh, you will learn new vocabulary in relation to description, hair and eye colour and style. You will learn French through stories such as:
Luc and Sophie 2eme.

Grand Monstre Vert.

 

 

PE

 

On Wednesdays with Mr Scott you will be developing your fundamental movements including sprinting, hoppingm throwing and catching.

 

 

Music

 

In weekly Music lessons with Mr Bellingham, you will use the iPads to compose music with a metal them related to The Iron Man inspired by Black Sabbath.
