Class Worry Boxes
World Mental Health Day – 10.10.22
To celebrate World Mental Health Day the school council have been working hard to understand the many worries and anxieties shared by children. They would like all children to have the opportunity to communicate their worries. These can then be shared with a trusted adult, so that all children can feel supported.
Worry boxes help children to understand their thoughts and feelings, and give them control over them. The practise of writing the worries down help children to acknowledge and address feelings.
Each class will be creating their own Worry Box. The box will be kept in class, where a member of staff can regularly empty the box of worries and address them. This will be done in a weekly class assembly, circle time or at the end of the day.
