Computing
At Norbridge Academy, we recognise that the use of technology allows children to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding in a range of creative ways. We see computing as a tool that should be used across the curriculum.
Throughout school, children access lessons linked to e-safety. These are age-appropriate and relate to the technology they access and the websites they visit. By hosting a whole school computing week, we can promote the importance of e-safety to all children and share the benefits of the internet.
Across Foundation Stage 1 and 2, children become familiar with different apps and these are used flexibly throughout the year.
In Key Stage 1, children are introduced to algorithms and they begin to use simple programs linked to computer science. Throughout Key Stage 2, children are given the opportunities to build on their knowledge to create their own programs.
