WB 24.02.20 - This week, we were introduced to our new focus text: 'Arthur and the Golden Rope'. After reading the story together, we acted out our favourite parts. We focused on dialogue and action to make our showcase appealing to the audience. Take a look at some freeze-frames from our lesson below:
WB 10.02.20 - We began the week by identifying the features of instructions to help support our writing. Then, we wrote a set of instructions to explain to others how to make an Automata Animal, which we created during our DT Day. We focused on the structure of our writing and discussed how non-fiction texts are organised differently to fiction. You can read our writing at: toucan2019.norbridgeblogs.net

WB 03.02.20 - This week, we have followed the plan, draft, edit, write sequence to write our own Viking stories inspired by 'The Saga of Biorn. We thought carefully about the characters, setting and plot and ensured to include the five main parts of a story. You can see some of our writing at: toucan2019.norbridgeblogs.net

WB 27.01.20 - We continued to explore The Saga of Biorn in our English lessons this week. We practised using inverted commas to write dialogue and imagined what the characters would have said in the different scenes. We also worked together to create some short sketches, retelling the story with an alternative ending.
WB 20.01.20 - This week, we were introduced to our new focus text: The Saga of Biorn. It follows a Viking warrior, on a jounrey to prove himself as the greatest Viking of them all. We used story maps to retell the opening in our words. Take a look at some of our ideas below:
