Monday 8th March 2021- WALT: Adapt a model text.

Using the planning grid, plan a narrative based on The Egyptian Cinderella. Adapt small parts of the story to make the narrative your own. E.g. Change the slipper to a glove or a crown. Change the setting from Egypt to another country etc.

For your task today, I would like you to write an opening paragraph to the story you planned yesterday. Your opening should include:

  • Character & setting descriptions that include lots of expanded noun phrases.
  • Fronted adverbials to vary your sentence starters
  • Lots of interesting vocabulary choices.

 

Wednesday 10th March 2021- WALT: Write a build up.

Your build up should include:

  • Clear descriptions of events that lead up to the problem.
  • Descriptions of how characters feel/react at various points.
  • Lots of interesting vocabulary.
  • Fronted adverbials to help you vary your sentence starters/add detail.
  • Accurate spelling of High Frequency Words
