Multiplication Tables
This week in Maths we have been recalling and using multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables. We have been writing and calculating mathematical statements for multiplication and division using the multiplication tables we know, including for two-digit numbers times one-digit numbers. We have been using mental and written methods to solve problems, including missing number problems.
Addition and Subtraction
This week, we have started a new unit in Maths. We are now moving on to look at developing our addition and subtraction skills. Using our place value knowledge, we have been learning different strategies to help us solve addition and subtraction problems more efficiently in our heads.

Place Value
This week, we have been continuing to build on our understanding of place value. We have been comparing numbers using inequality symbols and estimating the position of 3-digit numbers on a number line.

This week, we have been learning about the place value of 3-digit numbers. We focused on showing numbers in different ways. For example, we have used base 10 equipment, place value counters and learnt to draw part whole models. We have also been practising our reasoning skills by answering questions that require us to explain why or how we know.
