Spring term 2 Updates

WC 21.03.22

English - This week in English, we have been looking at using adjectives and similes to describe flowers and plants. We read our new class focus text 'Bee' and thought about all the different flowers that bees would like to visit. We went on a walk around the school to find a flower to draw and describe.

Maths - This week in Maths, we are recapping some of our learning on length, mass, volume and capacity ready for our end of unit tests.

Computing - This week in Computing we have been learning how to turn on, login and open a programme on our laptops. We practised using the trackpad, clicking, double clicking and dragging. To practice using the trackpad we focused on creating an image of trees and plants on Paint.

R.E - This week in R.E. we have been consolidating our learning on Islam. We recalled the Five Pillars of Islam, discussed the main beliefs of Islam and recalled what the Quran and Mosque was. This will help us when we complete our end of term quizzes next week.

PSHE - To finish off our PSHE learning this term we completed a lesson on medication. We discussed when it was appropriate to take medicine and how we should only take medicine that our parents have told us to take. We discussed how we must never take medicine on our own and learned how it can make us poorly if we take medicine incorrectly.

14.03.22

English - This week in English, in learned about instructions. We started off by looking at different types of instructions and the features of instructions. We then had a go writing a title and using bullet points to create a list. We then wrote our own instructions on how to plant a cress seed.

Maths - This week in Maths we have been learning about capacity. We discussed what capacity meant and how we can measure it. We leaned about the terms full and empty and how we knew what was full, nearly full, half hull nearly empty and empty.

Geography - This week in Geography we have been looking at Worksop on the map. We looked at a world map, identified where the U.K. is, where Sheffield is, where Worksop is and looked at other areas we knew on the map such as Clumber Park and Hodsock.
