Summer

Summer Term

We have lots of exciting activities planned for the Summer Term in Foundation Stage 2.

Summer Term 1 - Our topic will be 'What can we learn from others?' In this topic, we will be learning about different places around the World and the people that live there. We will look at different cultures, celebrations that people hold and different beliefs. We will also be learning about how we are all different and unique.

Summer Term 2 - Our topic will be 'What is the last word you want to hear when you are swimming in the sea?' In this topic, we will learn all about the Seaside. We will learn about what things we might find at the seaside, how places have changed over time and animals that live in our seas and oceans.

Jellyfish making!

We are enjoying our topic all about the seaside!

Submarine making!

We have been busy making letters out of items around the classroom!

We love our outdoor area!

Our beach hut role play area

The children went on a tricky word hunt around the classroom!

We love to build!

We made our own dot paintings of animals we would like to see in Australia!

We have had lots of fun in the sun!

In literacy, we have been reading the story 'All Aboard for the Bobo Road'. We looked at traditional African dresses the characters were wearing and designed our own. Here are our designs!

We have learnt all about England and the Queen. Some children decided to write a letter to the Queen during their active learn.

The children have loved comparing now and then photos of Worksop. The children found it very interesting how some of the buildings are still the same and how different the cars used to be!

The children love reading in our reading area!
