Spellings:
We would like to encourage children to practise reading and writing the following words this week.
child
children
wild
climb
most
only
both
old
English:
This week we thought of questions to ask the main character in the story 'Lost in the toy museum'.
Next week Peacock class will have a visit from the Partake theatre company who will show them lots of toys from the past.
Can you write down and bring to school some questions to ask about the toys we will see?
Remember, what punctuation do you need for question sentences?
SPAG -
Look at this sentence, it include two clauses joined by a conjunction:
Leroy ran to his friend's house and knocked on the door.
When we join two clauses together, they become a compound sentence.
In our grammar lessons this week we have tried to add extra information to sentences by using the conjunctions when, if, that, because.
Can you use this picture to write a story. Try to use at least 4 subordinating conjunctions (when, if, because, that) in your writing to add extra information.
Math:
We have continued with our addition and subtraction work.
This week we have used the column method to support us.
Can you continue to practise using this method at home?
Topic:
This half term we are finding out about the uses of everyday materials.
Can you create your own fact file about famous inventions from the past?
Use the attached document to help you.
