Children In Need
Today we researched the history behind Children In Need. We found out why we have this day and how all the money that is raised is spent. We decided to support this amazing cause by dressing up and donating one pound. We also held our own bake sale to raise money.

Creative Hero Day
Today was our Creative Hero Day. We researched Remembrance Day and found out that it is held on the 11th of November, the 11th Day of the 11th Month at 11 a.m. to remember the millions who have died at war. Remembrance Day was first held in 1919, one year after the First World War ended. It is sometimes known as Armistice Day. On Remembrance Day, people will lay wreaths of poppies on statues and monuments to remember all the soldiers who died for us. We came to school dressed up as someone we see as a hero and discussed with our friends what makes them a hero. We then designed our own superhero and discussed what special powers they could have and how they could help people. We designed a costume for them and then went on the field to take part in a ‘superhero obstacle course’. Finally, we made our own poppy that will be displayed on the fence at school.
Harvest Festival
Today we celebrated Harvest with Year 2 by singing different songs. We chose to sing 'Autumn Harvest' and performed a fantastic song and dance routine for our parents, carers and friends. Thank you to everyone that donated food and other items.
