Holocaust Museum Trip - Y6
This week, Year 6 visited the Holocaust Centre where they followed the journey of a Jewish child through World War II. They watched a film about children of the Holocaust and the journey they made during Hitler's regime. They followed the story of Leo, a 10-year old Jewish boy, and found out about his life and the difficulties him and his family faced. They were transported to a German classroom in 1938 and they thought about what school would have been like for Jewish children. Children were told that they could not play with Jewish boys and girls and persecution was evident. Finally, they visited the rose memorial garden and asked questions about the objects that were in the museum. Before they left, they placed a stone on the living sculpture to remember the children who were murdered during the Holocaust.
