We value The Arts at Norbridge Academy and this is reflected in our music curriculum. We aim to develop children's creativity and enable them to become 'Masters of Music'. Each term, children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 have a music focus and we take the time to listen and discuss, create and compose, and learn and perform. In Foundation Stage 1 and 2, children experience learning for expressive arts and class teachers follow the guidance published by Development Matters.

Children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 have a weekly music lesson with one of our specialist teachers. This creates the opportunity for children to learn how to play musical instruments, use technology to generate music and play together as a class band.
Aside from our curriculum offer, children have the opportunities to develop their musical abilities. In collaboration with Musical Futures, we run ukulele, guitar, djembe and keyboard lessons to children in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Our children participate in a range of musical events and we offer many extra-curricular opportunities linked to music, such as 'Choir' and 'Keyboard Club'. Our children can become part of the Norbridge Rocks band and become broadcasters on the Norbridge Rocks Radio!
