Our enquiry question this half term is: Can we be brave all of the time?

Autumn 2:

Our focus book this half term is: The Lost Toy Museum by David Luca.

Please visit our year 2 overview to find out what we will be

learning about in our different subjects.

Autumn 2

Internet Safety

Autumn 2 Week 4: This week we continued to practise our skills using the internet safely.

We used search tools to find out information and follow links.

Autumn 2 Week 4: This week in SMSC we found out about Diwali.

Autumn 2 Week 3: Today we explored our enquiry question further as we found out about toys from the past.

We enjoyed playing with toys from different dates, discussed the materials used and compared similar toys with each other.

Autumn 2 Week 3.This week we wore our off socks to school and talked about the importance of being kind, caring and good friends to each other.

We discussed our similarities and celebrated our difference.

We then designed our own anti bullying mascot.

Times table rock stars.

Autumn 2 Week 2: This week Peacock class rocked at their times tables.

Autumn 2 Week 1: This week in our art lesson we looked at the work of Jeff Koons.

We really liked his balloon sculptures and followed instructions to create our own images inspired by these.

Over this half term we will create our own balloon animal inspired sculptures.

Computing: Using the Internet Safely.

Autumn 2 Week 1: This week we discussed the use of the internet and the importance of using this safely. We then used a search engine to find out information about a topic.

At the end of our lesson we visited the times tables rock star page to practise our times tables.

Autumn 1

Autumn 1: Halloween Fun

Autumn 1 Science: Living things and their Habitats.

Transition Week.

For our first week back we read the book Almost Anything by Sophy Henn.

A lovely, inspiring book about not being afraid to have a go at new things.

We talked about our new class and the journey ahead of us. We know that we will be faced with new challenges but just like the character in the book, George, we wont be afraid to have a go and we'll have fun trying new things.

In the story Almost Anything, George is given a magic hat by his friend bear to help him try new things.

We know we don't need a magic hat and just like George we have magic in us that will help us on our journey through year two but we had fun making our own magic hats to remind us.

Proud Peacocks

For our art lesson this week we decorated our own Peacock feather which will form a whole class display.
